At least three MTA workers are being treated for burns following an accident in the Union Square subway station this morning.
The employees were doing work on the third rail at the station around 3 a.m. when an explosion occurred.
They were rushed to the hospital; none of their injuries are considered life-threatening.
The accident also caused early morning disruptions on the 4, 5 and 6 lines, but service has been restored.
