MTA police release photo of ‘armed and dangerous’ Lynbrook LIRR shooting suspect

MTA police have released a photo of a suspect wanted in connection to a shooting at the Lynbrook train station.
He is considered “armed and dangerous.”
A 17-year-old was shot at the station just before 8 p.m. Saturday when units were called about several gun shots at the train station, according to police.
Police say that no victim or shooter were found, but officers did find two shell casings.
Less than an hour later, police say a 17-year-old walked into a hospital less than 2 miles away with a gunshot wound in the back of his shoulder.
The victim told police he was shot at the Lynbrook train station, according to the MTA. He was said to have injuries that were not life-threatening.
"This is just really going to shake up the community,” says Lynbrook resident Denise Chastain.
People who use the Lynbrook train station say the area is normally safe and it makes them nervous.
"It’s really scary,” says Lynbrook resident Lindy Hayes. “If there were actually people up there on the platform, somebody else could've gotten hurt. I'm just trying to be on high alert. I definitely am aware of my surroundings."
The Lynbrook Police Department says it is seeking the public’s assistance to identify a picture that was released of the suspect.
