MTA: Pedestrian fatally struck by LIRR train

MTA police are investigating how a pedestrian got hit and killed Saturday evening by an LIRR train in West Babylon. They say the train struck the individual at around 5:40 p.m. by Muncy Avenue.

MTA police are investigating how a pedestrian got hit and killed Saturday evening by an LIRR train in West Babylon.
They say the train struck the individual at around 5:40 p.m. by Muncy Avenue.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
About 100 people were on the train, which was heading to Jamaica from Montauk. Buses were ordered, and the train began moving again just after 7:30 p.m.
