It’s official. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority board overwhelmingly approved the controversial congestion pricing plan.
Tolls at 60th Street and below will charge cars $15 to enter Manhattan, which is expected to go into effect by mid-June. New Jersey officials promise to continue fighting the plan in the courts.
“They don’t care about firefighters, or cops, nurses or small business. They care about one thing: getting cash into their pockets. So, they looked around, and they’re sticking it to hard working families who have to commute,” Rep. Josh Gottheimer said.
