(AP) - A New Yorker who already has spent nearlyhalf his life in prison will spend the remainder of his days behindbars.
Fernando De Campoamor was sentenced to lifein prison without parole on Thursday. He was convicted in the 2006shooting of his girlfriend and her son in a dispute over a $7,000loan.
The 66-year-old De Campoamor already had received 7 years inprison for a 1961 manslaughter conviction; 6 years in 1968 forshooting his then-pregnant girlfriend; and another 18 years for a1985 manslaughter conviction.
Prosecutors said he confessed to murdering girlfriend AmeliaGarcia and her son, Ferneliz Cruz. A Long Island jury deliberatedfor less than four hours before convicting him in October.
