An MS-13 gang member has been sentenced to 50 years in prison for his role in four gruesome deaths on Long Island.
Freiry Martinez, from Brentwood, admitted his role in the four gang-related killings that took place in April 2017.
Federal prosecutors say the victims, believed to be members of a rival gang, were lured to a wooded area in a Central Islip park, where they were killed.
Investigators say Martinez was one of a dozen gang members who used machetes, knives and wooden clubs to kill all four victims.
The bodies of the four young men - Michael Banegas, Jefferson Villalobos, Jorge Tigre, and Justin Llivicura, were discovered the next day.
Authorities have made several arrests in connection to the murders.
Martinez, who was 15 at the time of the killings, fled to Virginia and was later arrested in Maryland.
In September 2018, he pleaded guilty to taking part in the 2017 killings.
