Kickstands were up at Lido Beach Town Park Sunday morning as hundreds of bikers hit the streets for the 17th annual Dee Snider's Ride.
The motorcycle charity ride is led by legendary Twisted Sister rocker and native Long Islander Dee Snider.
Every year, the ride raises money for a different cause. This year's charity is called Melissa's Wish, an organization that supports the caregivers of terminally ill patients.

The ride event has grown over the years, and it regularly pulls in about $75,000 for the causes it supports. But Snider says it's just as important to raise awareness.
"When you do a charity ride it's not just about who shows up, although we need all the support we can, all the donations. You don't think five bucks helps, believe me, it does. But it's also about awareness. And when you make a lot of noise like this, thousands and thousands hear about Melissa's Wish," Snider says.
