A 42-year-old motorcyclist died during a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning in Centereach.
Suffolk police say Herson Almonte was traveling eastbound on Nesconset Highway near Nichols Road when he lost control and struck the center divider around 12:30 a.m.
The Port Jefferson resident was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital and pronounced dead.
Police say the motorcycle was impounded for a safety check. Anyone with additional information about the incident is urged to call 631-854-8652.
