Suffolk County police said it's probing an apparent hit-and-run that injured a 17-year-old who was riding an electric scooter on his way to school in Wyandanch.
According to police, the teen was riding westbound on S. 19th Street when he reported being struck by a car when he crossed over Garden City Avenue last Friday, June 6, around 8:18 a.m.

Suffolk County police said the teen was taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital in East Islip with minor injuries.
The victim's mother is asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to reach out to law enforcement. She shared pictures of the damaged scooter.
