Voters had the chance to weigh in on school budgets in almost every district across Long Island Tuesday -- an important event for districts that need more money.
There were 124 districts on the Island holding budget votes Tuesday. School officials say they're seeking small tax increases despite federal aid help because that payment is a one-time thing, and it isn't clear how things such as new full-time hires will be calculated in to future budgets.
Residents also had the chance to vote on school boards for the upcoming year.
Four Nassau districts already voted because of a Jewish holiday - all of them passed.
