A Mets legend joined Long Islanders to hit the green for a good cause.
Mookie Wilson teed it up in Smithtown Monday for Last Chance Animal Rescue's ninth annual golf fundraiser.
The outing raises money to save dogs and cats from high-kill shelters in the South and give them a second chance at finding their forever homes.
The World Series champion tells News 12 he is happy to be involved in a good cause.
"I've had dogs in my home forever and I know how important they are, and we hope that this event today will do some good in saving and hopefully give some homes," Wilson says.
The nonprofit has saved over 20,000 animals since being created in 2008.
