Bars and clubs in Montauk may be required to use "mechanical devices" to count customers, according to Newsday.
Montauk residents say they are fed up with the crowds spilling out of clubs, including the Sloppy Tuna, the Surf Lodge and Memory Motel.
There will be a hearing on the plan August 20 at East Hampton Town Hall.
The town could also ban parking along Edgemere Street by the Surf Lodge and other bars and restaurants.
