Money that was supposed to be used to clean up the Nassau Coliseum site will instead be used to spruce up the Islanders' new East Meadow practice facility.
The Islanders have already started practicing at "Northwell Ice Center" in Eisenhower Park.
According to Newsday, the team will put part of the $3.5 million from the Lighthouse Project into fixing up the ice center.
Another $1 million will be used to fix up Hicksville's Cantiague Park.
The move resolves the long dispute over money Charles Wang paid to Nassau for development rights to the Coliseum.
