A Brentwood mom is facing charges after a car crash in Middle Island.
According to police, 35-year-old Sherry Acosta was driving high on prescription drugs Thursday with her baby in the car. Police say she rear-ended a car at a red light. No one was injured.
Acosta was charged with driving while impaired by drugs and endangering the welfare of a child. Police say Acosta has a prior DWI conviction.
The child was turned over to a relative and Child Protective Services was notified.
