A Montauk fisherman was found alive 12 hours after falling overboard in shark-infested waters and says his boots saved his life.

In video obtained by News 12 Long Island, John Aldridge can be seen being rescued 43 miles south of Montauk Wednesday afternoon.

Aldridge fell off the "Anna May" lobster boat while on night watch.

Aldridge says he used his boots as flotation devices for 12 hours before the Coast Guard rescued him using a Jayhawk helicopter.

Aldridge is being treated for dehydration, exposure and hypothermia.
