Some seventh-grade students from North Country Road Middle School in Miller Place learned about the health of Long Island's waterways Tuesday.
Amy Mandelbaum, of the Long Island Sound Study and New York Sea Grant Organization, taught the students about how important wetlands are to our ecosystem.
The students conducted studies on water quality and levels of pollution.
Students are analyzing the information they have gathered over the last six years to see any changes that may have taken place in the wetlands.
