Miller Place High School football players and cheerleaders wore gold to Friday night's game in support of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
The players used gold socks and the cheerleaders had gold ribbons in a show of support for Tommy Scully, whose parents organized the event.
Tommy died last year at 12 years old due to an aggressive brain tumor, say his parents, Debbie and Jim Scully. They recently started the Thomas Scully Foundation to raise money for childhood cancer research.
The foundation will also send care packages to children with cancer in local hospitals.
