Michael Brown, of Freeport, arrested in alleged pitchfork burglary attempt

Police have arrested a Freeport man who allegedly attempted to break down the door of a Roosevelt home with a pitchfork on Saturday afternoon.

A 58-year-old woman inside the home on Fulton Avenue called police, who responded and arrested 39-year-old Michael Brown. At the time of his arrest, he was riding a bicycle that was reported stolen earlier in the day.

Police say Brown, 39, was also in possession of marijuana. He is being charged with attempted burglary, unlawful possession of marijuana and possession of stolen property.

The pitchfork was recovered. There were no injuries.
