Merrick student makes top 10 in prestigious Regeneron Science Talent Search

The recent John F. Kennedy High School graduate used fruit flies to study the impact of diet and caffeine on seizures.

A student from Merrick has received national recognition.
Katherine Saint George finished among the top ten in the prestigious Regeneron Science Talent Search — a decades-old math and science competition. 
The recent John F. Kennedy High School graduate used fruit flies to study the impact of diet and caffeine on seizures.
Katherine's sixth place finish comes with an $80,000 reward for college.
           
She'll attend Columbia University in the Fall.
