? Police say there is another alleged sex scandal involving a Mepham High School student.
Antione Saunders, 18, pleaded not guilty Friday for allegedly touching a 14-year-old boy in the boy?s locker room Monday after a wrestling event. He was arrested Thursday.
Mepham High School made headlines in 2003 after three football players were accused of using pine cones and broomsticks in an alleged sexual hazing incident at a training camp in Pennsylvania.
Police say this case was different. They believe Saunders? alleged actions were done to degrade the boy and say other students in the room quickly came to the victim's defense.
Police say Saunders lives in a home listed as a state-licensed group home. School district officials tell News 12 Long Island once they learned something had happened on school grounds, they immediately contacted local law enforcement. ?The Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District has a zero-tolerance policy in regards to inappropriate behavior,? officials say.
Saunders is due back in court Feb. 9.
