A memorial was held Monday to mark 11 years since the death of a Nassau County police officer.
Arthur Lopez was shot and killed during a traffic stop on the Nassau-Queens border.
Family, friends and loved ones gathered at the location near the Cross Island Parkway to pay tribute to the officer. He was posthumously promoted to detective.
The department comes together every year to honor Lopez.
The suspect accused of killing Lopez, Darrell Fuller, was sentenced to life. He died in prison in 2019.
