High school seniors at Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School got to take part in an aerial simulation exercise on Friday.
It included the Nassau County Police Department's helicopter landing at the school.
"It's such a surreal experience," says senior Nadia Friedman.
Senior Jesse Singer says the program is helping him prepare for a career in medicine.
"It takes eight years to go through medical school, so getting this experience is great," explained Singer.
The aerial demonstration was part of a student program that trains seniors to become certified emergency medical technicians.
"It's special to this community because we are grooming our own first responders," added teacher Spencer Adelberg.
Students can earn college credits through the program, as well as get certified.
