A Medford man was given the maximum sentence today for the murder of a prostitute he met on Craigslist. Chad Johnson was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for the 2010 murder of 26-year-old Jennifer Papain. It is believed Johnson killed Papain after she refused to refund him the $80 he paid her for a sex act.
In court, Johnson denied killing Papain, claiming she died of a drug overdose and that he panicked. Johnson had six prior convictions on his record, and two women had previously taken out orders of protection against him.
