A Medford man has been charged in connection with two violent home invasion robberies.

Police say Joseph Wilko shot a man three times during a break-in last month in Coram.

In May, prosecutors say Wilko hit a Port Jefferson home owner in the head with the butt of a shotgun and stole belongings from the residence.

The victims in both burglaries are expected to recover.
