A young Medford father's life was cut short Friday during a home invasion.
Police say three masked men entered a Medford home around 11 p.m., demanding money and drugs. They say 22-year-old Dane Aulak, who has a 2-year-old son, was separated from his brother and sister while his parents were forced to the ground. According to police, Aulak got into a struggle with the suspects and was shot and killed. Two of the suspects were also injured during the scuffle.
Police say the men took off on foot and left behind a trail of blood. Police eventually tracked down two of the suspects, who were both taken to Southside Hospital. One of them died and the other underwent surgery. The third suspect remains on the loose.
