A Holbrook teen is accused of hacking into Sachem School District's computer systems and obtaining students' personal data, then posting the information online.

Police say Matthew Calicchio, 17, illegally accessed and downloaded the records of thousands of students in 2012 and 2013. Calicchio allegedly posted the information to online community boards.

The records included student identification numbers and information on free lunch plans.

"The recent news leaves us with very mixed emotions," Sachem School District released in a statement. "It is also a time of great sadness for our Sachem family. We continue to limit our comments so that we do not interfere with law enforcement and their investigation."

Calicchio's attorney says none of the allegations are true and questioned whether someone inside the school district was behind the leak of information.

The teen is charged with felony computer trespass. He and his family declined to comment in court.

Calicchio is scheduled to be back in court on Dec. 9.
