A Mastic man has pleaded guilty to driving drunk and causing a crash that nearly killed a Suffolk County police officer.
Court documents say WIlliam Petersohn pleaded guilty to second-degree vehicular assault and assault, among other charges.
Police say the 38-year-old drove drunk in November and drove into the back of a car involved in a separate crash.
That crash sent a vehicle into officer Timothy Thrane.
Thrane spent nearly a month in a medically induced coma after the crash.
Petersohn is due back in court later this month.
