(01/01/08) MASTIC ? A Mastic father is accused of driving drunk on New Year?s Eve with his two young daughters in the car.

Police say Michael Orlando was arrested for drunken driving at the intersection of Mastic Road and Somerset Avenue in Mastic. According to police, Orlando had his 6- and 1-year-old daughters in the car with him at the time of his arrest.

Just before his arrest, Orlando is also accused of crashing his SUV through a barricade set up by Verizon workers making emergency repairs. One worker says he was almost hit by Orlando?s truck.

Orlando was previously arrested and convicted of driving while intoxicated in 1998. Police say that makes his latest arrest a felony-level incident.

No one was hurt. Orlando is being held on $10,000 bail.
