A building that sits on a run-down piece of property across from William Floyd High School and was the site of an alleged sex attack on a student was torn down Wednesday.
William Floyd students dubbed the site ?The Crack Shack? and say it?s where kids would go to do drugs, drink and hang out. Police say a 14-year-old girl was sexually assaulted at a trailer on the property in January by a man posing as a cop. Several other attacks on female students in the area around the school were also reported.
The Town of Brookhaven had ordered the property owner to clean up the property last month but was ignored. Brookhaven Town Supervisor Brian Foley says the property will now be put to commercial use and announced a ?new day for this area of the community.?
There has been no official decision on what store will be put on the property, but there are rumors it will be a Dunkin? Donuts.
