The Massapequa High School baseball coach is watching the hometown Little League's World Series journey closely.
Tom Sheedy says he knows some of the boys on the Massapequa Coast Little League team from camps he has run around town.
He says in a few years, some of the players will become varsity players.
Sheedy says what strikes him the most about the players is how smart they play for their age.
"Swinging at good pitches, working the count, things like the basic fundamentals that they have any level," Sheedy says. "These 11 players have it as 12 years old, which is just fabulous."
