Another American campus has been shattered by gun violence.

Florida State University became the scene of chaos and heartbreak as a gunman opened fire Thursday, killing two people and injuring at least six others. The attack has sent shockwaves through the Tallahassee community and beyond — especially for those who have lived through this kind of terror before.

Fred Guttenberg, a former Long Islander and father of Parkland victim Jaime Guttenberg, expressed his grief and frustration on social media.

Linda Beigel Schulman, of Dix Hills, lost her son, teacher Scott Beigel in the Parkland shooting.

He died while shielding students from gunfire. She shared her reaction to the FSU shooting with News 12.

“It is horrible for those kids, and unfortunately they probably knew what to do because they've had to do it once before,” said Beigel Schulman. “Those of us who keep speaking and speaking and speaking wish we would get more people to speak with us so we can get something done. Something has to be done when it comes to gun safety.”
