After a decision made Wednesday night, masks are not required inside the classrooms of Massapequa schools.
The newly announced guidelines say masks will be recommended, but not required indoors. However, they will still be required on school buses.
School officials also say there will be no more remote instruction.
Other changes include the removal of Plexiglas barriers from desks and no more health checks.
Many Massapequa residents have expressed their opinions in the past over whether mask wearing in schools should be mandatory.
Many believe it is a matter of choice.
