March Madness raises concern about sports gambling addiction on LI
The American Gaming Association estimates $3.1 billion will be legally wagered on this year's men's and women's college basketball tournaments, which is up from last year.
March Madness is one of the busiest times on the sports calendar.
It's also one of the most active for sports gambling, leading to concern over adults - young and old - becoming addicted to betting.
One Long Islander says he lost hundreds of thousands of dollars to sports gambling.
He is now a recovering gambling addict and has been in the Long Island Gamblers Anonymous program for just over a year.
The Long Island Problem Gambling Resource Center is also aware of the issue and stresses the importance of setting a limit for yourself if you plan on gambling responsibly.
