Many LI flights canceled due to Hurricane Matthew
With storm winds exceeding 140 mph, Hurricane Matthew has grounded many flights out of Long Island heading south.
Airlines canceled more than 2,800 flights Thursday and Friday, many of them in or out of Miami and Fort Lauderdale.
Walt Disney World closed its parks for just the fourth time since its opening in 1971.
Kevin Parris, of Patchogue, says he plans to wait out the storm in his condo in Jupiter, Florida. The monster storm expected to make landfall on the state's coast as a Category 4 hurricane.
"[The condo] has hurricane glass protection and I think I'm going to be safe here. I'm not really sure," says Parris.
