Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano says the announcement of the Nassau Coliseum developer has been postponed until tomorrow out of respect for the officer that was shot this morning in New Hyde Park.

The announcement will be made at 11:30 a.m. in Mineola.

Mangano will choose between Madison Square Garden and Forest City Ratner companies.

Both finalists have submitted their bids to renovate the Coliseum and the vast area surrounding it.

A few weeks ago, Mangano reiterated that picking a winner is far from an easy choice.

Both developers are calling for a renovated arena, with less seating than what the Coliseum holds for Islanders games.

Ratner, the company behind the new Barclays Center in Brooklyn, has plans for a skating rink and ampitheater.

MSG proposes an entertainment complex with restaurants and shops.

Town of Hempstead officials have already rezoned the land as part of the project.

The Nassau County Legislature will have to approve the winning bid.

The Dolan family owns a controlling interest in MSG and Cablevision. Cablevision is the parent company of News 12 Long Island.
