Man who killed NYPD officer from Elmont denied parole again
The man currently serving a 25 years-to-life sentence for killing an NYPD officer from Elmont has been denied parole for a third time, according to the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.
The family of Officer Anthony Dwyer had asked the parole board in May not to release Eddie Matos.
Dwyer was killed in 1989 after being pushed down an air shaft by Matos, who was fleeing a burglary.
Matos will be up for parole again in 2020.
