Man wanted for stealing $480 in quick change scam in Farmingville

According to police, while the cashier was counting out cash, the suspect stole $480.

Police are searching for the man who scammed a clerk in Farmingville and made off with almost $500.
According to police, the man went into Stop & Shop on North Ocean Avenue last week and handed an employee $600 in $50 bills.
The man asked the clerk for the $600 in $1 bills.   When the worker gave him the new bills, police say the man then claimed he wanted twenties.
While the cashier was counting out the cash, the suspect stole $480.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
