Man struck, killed by car in Lawrence
An 82-year-old man was struck and killed by a car as he attempted to cross a street in Lawrence. Police say Theodore Schiffman, of Florida, was struck while crossing Nassau Parkway just before 6 p.m.

An 82-year-old man was struck and killed by a car as he attempted to cross a street in Lawrence.
Police say Theodore Schiffman, of Florida, was struck while crossing Nassau Parkway just before 6 p.m. Friday.
Schiffman was taken to the hosptial, where he was pronounced dead.
Police say the driver of the Dodge vehicle that struck Schiffman is not facing charges.
