The search is on for a man who stole boxes of allergy medicine from a New Hyde Park pharmacy.

Police say an employee at a CVS near Hillside Avenue and Hillside Boulevard saw the man stuffing boxes of Claritin into his pockets at around 6 p.m. Tuesday. When the employee tried to stop the man, the suspect motioned to his waistband as if he had a weapon.

The man fled on foot, getting away with about $500 of Claritin.
