Suffolk County police are searching for two suspects who shot and killed a man on his daughter?s front lawn in Wyandanch Monday night.
Jerry Armstrong, a 45-year-old father, was killed by a gunshot wound to the abdomen outside his daughter?s house on Irving Avenue and Deer Street.
Police say Armstrong and a group of men were gathered on the front lawn when at least two other individuals fired shots at them. Armstrong was struck by a bullet and was transported by helicopter to Good Samaritan Hospital, where he died a short time later.
Police say they found a suspicious car just a few blocks away from the scene of the shooting Tuesday morning. Investigators won't say for sure if the car and the shooting are connected. They also say they don?t have a motive.
Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
