A motorcyclist from Queens was killed and a passenger was critically injured in a crash late Sunday afternoon in the Wantagh State Parkway.

The crash occurred around 5:05 p.m. at Goose Creek Bridge, about a mile north of the Jones Beach water tower, according to New York State Police.

Troopers say 19-year-old Dario Marsalek, of Astoria, was traveling northbound when he struck a guardrail.

He and his passenger were ejected from the motorcycle.

Marsalek landed on the roadway while the passenger landed on the grassy area along the right shoulder of the road.

Marsalek was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The passenger was in critical condition as of Sunday night.

The crash prompted the shutdown of all northbound lanes on the parkway.

The lanes reopened just before 9 p.m.
