Prosecutors say a parolee has been arrested for allegedly robbing and sexually assaulting a woman in Patchogue nearly two weeks ago.

The Suffolk County District Attorney says 25-year-old Gary Grigg sodomized and brutally beat the 24-year-old female victim on West Main Street at around 3 a.m. on June 29. They also say he robbed her of $26.

Surveillance cameras on Main Street captured an image of Grigg on the day of the crime.

Grigg pleaded not guilty to a charge of criminal sexual act and robbery. He is being held on $75,000 bail. The Suffolk D.A. says even if Grigg makes bail, he won't be let out of jail because he violated the terms of his parole.

Authorities say Grigg was out on parole for a 2008 burglary.
