An elderly man was killed Tuesday morning in a fire at a Bethpage home.Officials say the fire broke out at around 1:15 a.m. at a home on Suzanne Lane. According to officials, 46 firefighters from the Bethpage and Hicksville fire departments were needed to battle the flames.Salvatore Alu, 91, was in a bedroom upstairs and died in the fire. His son, 56-year-old Robert Alu, was taken to Nassau University Medical Center for smoke inhalation.Fire officials are investigating, but say the fire does not appear to be suspicious.
