(AP) - A 23-year-old Long Island man has beensentenced to 100 years to life in prison for shooting a 17-year-oldin a case of mistaken identity.
Dwyane Dailey was convicted earlier this year in the February2008 killing of Edwin Mejia Alvarado. The teenagerwas sitting in a car with three friends outside a Westburynightclub when Dailey and another man opened fire.
Prosecutors say the gunmen erroneously thought the four men weremembers of a rival street gang.
The three others injured in the shooting survived, but are allpermanently disabled.
Prosecutors say Dailey and his alleged accomplice are members ofthe Bloods gang. The accomplice is awaiting trial.
