Police say a Good Samaritan chased a hit-and-run driver through the streets of Brentwood after the driver struck a child.
Daniel Frazier, of Huntington, says he was driving Thursday night when he witnessed a minivan hit 5-year-old Freddy Argueta on Washington Avenue. Argueta was crossing the street with his mother when he was struck.
Frazier says the minivan involved in the accident took off. He says he chased the vehicle for several minutes and was able to block the vehicle with his car at a stop sign on Standish Road.
Police arrested 37-year-old Irma Ramirez and charged her with leaving the scene of an accident with injury and endangering the welfare of a child. Cops say Ramirez had her three young kids in the car at the time.
Argueta was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital. Officials say he was not seriously injured.
