Suffolk police arrested a man Saturday morning for attempted arson and burglary. Suffolk police say 34-year-old Christopher Werkshage went to his ex-girlfriend?s home on Fairview Avenue in Smithtown with a container of gasoline. They say Werkshage reached into the open bedroom window and started to pour the gasoline. However, Werkshage never lighted it because the woman?s new boyfriend was in the bedroom and frightened Werkshage off. Using a police dog, officers say they were able to track Werkshage to the Smithtown train station. He is being held on $25,000 bail.
