An Amityville man was arrested Monday for allegedly neglecting his dog.

The Suffolk SPCA says "Dollar," a 5-year-old gray and white male bulldog, was covered in dirt, urine and filth when it was taken from a home on Great Neck Road last week.

They say the dog also had sores on his tongue and swelling to its legs.

Naheem Scafe, 31, was charged with animal cruelty and is due back in court later this month.
