Police are searching for the man behind a case of animal abandonment.

The Suffolk SPCA released a video that shows a man putting two Australian Shepherds into the dog pen outside the Long Island Expressway Welcome Center at exit 51 in Dix Hills on Tuesday.

Officials say the man left with only one of the dogs and the other was left without food or water.

News 12 has been told the man drove off in a dark colored SUV.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Suffolk SPCA.
