Police say a standoff at a home started with a woman being attacked, and ended in Kings Park on Sunday.

Police arrested 43-year-old Mark Reyes, of Medford, after police say he broke into a home and barricaded himself in a bathroom for eight hours.

A 77-year-old woman in that home was able to escape.

Investigators say Reyes had fled another house on Clover Lane also in Kings Park.

There, police say he assaulted and slashed a female acquaintance Saturday night and held her against her will.

According to police, there were two children inside the first home at the time, they were not harmed.

Reyes is facing numerous charges.
