A man is accused of using fake money to buy a cellphone in Nassau County.
Luis Cruz Homs, 28, of Manhattan, met the victim in Great Neck Plaza in November, Nassau police say.
The sale had been arranged on Facebook Marketplace.
Police tell News 12 when the victim tried to deposit the $950 he was paid, he realized they were counterfeit bills.
Detectives arrested Cruz Homs following an investigation and charged him with possession of a forged instrument and petit larceny.
